This great room includes the formerly separate kitchen, breakfast, and family rooms and is now the heart of the home.
Prior to the remodel, the home had a closed floor plan with tightly confined rooms. The walkways between rooms were tiny, causing restricted traffic flow throughout the home.
The updated formal living room is bright and light. The design incorporates the client's antique furniture along with modern elements that are set against a backdrop of exquisite moire fabric wallpaper.

The Bar Under The Stairs
This home remodel by BKD Interiors breathed new life into an outdated town home by rebuilding the staircase to include a bar that is now the focal point of the home. To see the full design, see The Bar Under The Stairs.
Originally the kitchen, dining, and living room were 3 separate rooms. The staircase was walled in.
Incorporating the bar into the new staircase created one uniquely colored step that adds intrigue to the design.The simple iron and glass railing provides safety while maintaining the open feeling of the room.
